MBA FAQ
How long does the Թ State MBA take to get?
Most students graduate in 1.5 years, although it is possible to complete the MBA in one year if you are a full-time student. There is a cap of 8 years to complete the program. The Թ State MBA is 30 hours (with most students having to also take an additional two prerequisite courses that are smaller in scope in accounting and microeconomics/calculus, which are free of charge). A “full load” in graduate school is 6 hours per term.
Is the Թ state MBA 100% online?
Yes—online courses are offered every seven weeks during the semesters: Fall 1, Fall 2, Spring 1, and Spring 2. Summer sessions have two terms, which are six-week terms (Summer 1 and Summer 2).
Do you still operate an on-campus program, too?
Yes. The program draws many local residents and also international students. The terms are full 16-weeks for on-campus courses. Summer courses, however, are only offered online in the 6-week format.
Is the Թ State MBA accredited?
Yes, the program is AACSB-accredited, which is the “gold standard,” with only 5% of business schools worldwide with that distinction.
How much are the tuition and fees?

How is my application accepted?
Admission requirements are detailed on the Թ State MBA webpage. We do grant GRE/GMAT
waivers for certain
qualifications (overall bachelor’s degree GPA or GPA along with full-time work experience
combinations).
What is the curriculum like? What are the core courses?
Courses are all 3 credit hours each. The 7 core courses cover material in cost accounting,
managerial economics,
corporate finance, organizational behavior, business analytics, marketing, and strategy.
The 3 electives can be chosen in any business field for the general MBA, or in a specific
concentration. Online concentration choices available are business analytics, cybersecurity,
economic development, finance, global communication, health administration, nonprofit
leadership, forensic accounting, or marketing. The only on-campus concentration is
accounting (requires extra prerequisite work if no accounting bachelor’s degree.)
Are there any grade stipulations?
Yes. An MBA student may only have a maximum of three quality deficit points. If a student accumulates three of these points, the student is dropped from the program. Point structure: C=1 point, D=2 points, E=3 points. In addition to this rule, a student may only have one C in the MBA core—if a second C is made in the core, one of them must be repeated. A student must graduate with a 3.0 GPA with all graduate course grades averaged together.
Does the Թ State MBA accept transfer work?
The MBA Director makes decisions on a case-by-case basis, but usually 9 hours are
transferable. Where the courses
come into place depends upon the accreditation of the school from which you transfer
out. Only courses with at least a “B” can transfer into Թ.
