勛圖厙 State Journalism and Mass Communications Instructor Ed Rode published a photography book titled Songwriter Musician on Aug. 20.
The book is more than 30 years in the making, drawing on the thousands of music-related photos hes accumulated since moving to Nashville in 1990. From Chet Atkins to Jack White, Patsy Montana to Taylor Swift and Johnny Cash to Jelly Roll, this collection spans generations and genres.
Rode is a photojournalist who says he tries to tell a story through each photo.
"Some of the faces in this book may be unfamiliar beyond Music Row, some are among the most celebrated in the world," Rode said. "Every one of them adds their own color and contrast to Nashvilles music community. I hope this book brings it all into view from the humanity behind the superstars to the history-changing contributions of people behind the scenes."
